Understanding what's Happening
We all know how to
have sex, but what a lot of us may not know, men
and women included, is exactly what's going on
inside the woman's body.
While emotional
satisfaction has a lot to do with a woman having
an orgasm, the proper physical stimulation is
necessary, so It's important to have some basic
knowledge about the female anatomy.
The vagina
remains a mystery to many men and women. In
fact, a Cosmopolitan poll found that more than
60 percent of women say they don't know a lot
about their vagina, which is unfortunate,
because a new study reports that women who feel
confident about their vagina have more orgasms.
Most women use
the word vagina to refer to her private parts.
But technically, the term describes only the
narrow canal that runs inside her body from the
vulva (the visible area that includes the inner
and outer labia, clitoris, and perineum) to the
cervix (the lower portion of the uterus).
Stimulation
of the Clitoris and G-Spot:
The clitoris is
the focus of pleasure sensation for most woman
and is usually the place that, when stimulated,
will bring her to orgasm. Stimulation of
the G-Spot is necessary as well for some women
to achieve an orgasm. Stimulating both the
G-Spot and the clitoris produces the most
intense orgasms for all women, and different sex
positions allow for different levels of
stimulation, or lack of stimulation on either
the clitoris or the G-Spot.
Where is the
Clitoris and the G-Spot?
The clitoris, or clit, can be
quite elusive to men, and even to some women who
haven't fully explored their own body. In order
to find a woman's clitoris, you'll want to look
towards the top of her labia (the outer and
inner skin folds of a woman's vulva, or
genitals), but stay below the pubic bone. The
glans of the clitoris, similar to the head of a
man's penis, and even more sensitive, is the
nodule you can see when a woman is not aroused
and is located between the inner folds of the
vulva (labia minora), at the top. The clitoris
is just the tip of a branching interior system
of erectile tissue that extends towards the
vaginal opening. This tissue responds to sexual
arousal by filling with blood and becoming
harder and erect. As a woman becomes aroused,
her clitoris will actually swell and retract
underneath the clitoral hood, a flap of skin
that is part of her labia minora. The size and
shape of the clitoris varies from woman to
woman, although its location remains pretty
consistent. The G-spot is an area located
on the anterior wall of the vagina. To find
yours, place your fingers into your vagina and
curl them toward your belly button. Many women
report feeling a spongy, thicker area that
yields extreme pleasure when stimulated. One
sign the G-spot has been found is feeling as
though you need to urinate.
