Masturbation
and Masturbating
If you
had a choice, would you rather masturbate or suffer from a medical
condition like prostate cancer or coronary heart disease?
You already know that
masturbating won't make you go blind or cause hair to grow on
your palms.
You've probably also heard that masturbating can reduce stress and
help you sleep. But did you know that masturbating improves
prostate health and reduces the risk of prostate cancer for men,
and that masturbating also helps prevent cervical infections and improves
resistance to coronary heart disease (CHD) and can help prevent
type-2 diabetes for women?
Think about that a moment. Prostate cancer,
cervical infections, coronary heart disease and type-2 diabetes
are serious medical conditions, and studies have shown that we
can reduce the risk of being afflicted by those conditions
simply by masturbating!
Masturbation also improves the heart rate, immune system, blood pressure, reproductive
system, and brain chemistry. Check out the section "Health
Benefits of Masturbating" for more information about how
masturbating is good for you.
Enhancing Your
Masturbation Sessions
Sex toys can be titillating. If you only
masturbate using your hand, you're missing out on some
incredible sensations, and some earth shattering orgasms.
"Vibrators provide one of the strongest and most consistent
forms of stimulation," says Judy Kuriansky, PhD, sex therapist
and author of Generation Sex. Introduce the buzz factor once
you've prepped yourself for pleasure, and it could make an
orgasm a sure thing.
Just like the results vary in studies and surveys on how often
people masturbate, the results from studies and surveys also
vary when it comes to how many people use sex toys when they
masturbate. Depending on where you get your
information, you'll read that the number of people that use a
sex toy when they masturbate ranges from 3% to 45%. That's a
huge variation, but the people that have used a sex toy to
masturbate not only continue to use one, they experiment with
different sex toys and usually progress to using multiple sex
toys.
What these people have figured out is that using sex toys during
masturbation produces more intense and more satisfying orgasms
than just using their hand alone. In fact many women that can't
achieve an orgasm during sex can have an orgasm when they
masturbate, and the added stimulation from a sex toy such as a
vibrator allows them to experience more powerful orgasms as well
as multiple orgasms. There are even some women that say they
have only had an orgasm when they masturbate using a vibrator.
Unlike women, men are going to cum whether they have sex or
masturbate. In fact, barring any medical condition, a man can
usually masturbate himself to orgasm in under a minute. The sad
thing is that also unlike women, men don't experience multiple
orgasms. It's true that some men can cum a second time within a
few minutes after they cum the first time, and I've even heard
some guys claim they can make it to round three before their
little boxer hits the canvas, but these aren't the same as the
consecutive, multiple orgasms that women experience. Once most
men cum, they're usually done for thirty minutes to an hour (for
some men it's even longer) before they can get hard and cum a
second time. This fact begs the question as to why more men
wouldn't want to make their masturbation experience more intense
by using a masturbator sex toy. I can tell you from many years
of personal, 'hands on' experience that once I discovered the
pleasure a hand held 'Stroker' or 'Pocket Pussy' masturbator
provides, I seldom masturbate without one. I can also tell you
that I have a pretty nice collection of different strokers
because of the different sensations each one has to offer.
As far as women that use a vibrator to masturbate, my wife uses
vibrators and other sex toys when she masturbates. I'm very
thankful for rechargeable batteries because without them our
bill for batteries each month would probably be more than most
people's electric bill. The collection of vibrators and other
sex toys she has would put some sex toy shops to shame, and
while she has her favorites, she'll chose different ones to
masturbate with because of the different sensations they
provide. If you're wondering if all this masturbating we do has
any kind of negative effect on our sex life, just the opposite
is true. Our sex life is fantastic, and it's because we are both
comfortable and confident in our own sexuality. We both know
what gives ourselves pleasure, and we masturbate each other
quite often so we know what gives each other pleasure as well.
Not only does using a sex toy to masturbate provide you with
better orgasms, I've noticed that people that do use sex toys to
masturbate with tend to be more confident about their sexuality.
Studies have already shown that masturbating can enhance your
sex life in general, boosting your sexual confidence and turning
you into a better lover, so it only follows reason that the more
confident a person is about their own sexuality, the more open
they are going to be to experimenting with things like strokers,
vibrators, and other sex toys.
I'm making a personal observation here, but I think that once a
man or woman moves beyond just using their own hand to
masturbate and begins experimenting with sex toys, they gain
even more sexual confidence. Their own sexual world expands and
they become open to other new sexual stimulation. When they
figure out there are more sexual pleasures available to them
when they're masturbating, they also figure out that there's the
potential for many more sexual pleasures available to them with
their partner. |
