While it may be easy to fantasize, it may not be so easy to actually play out your fantasies.  If you're having trouble thinking up a fantasy for you and your partner to play together, here's a few tips that might help:

Getting Your Inspiration.

Take some ideas from one of your favorite T.V. shows or favorite books.  Books about sex and sex games can also help you come up with some incredible role play ideas.  Browse through the different costumes and lingerie.  Sometimes just seeing different costumes or even some new lingerie can help you build entire fantasies around them.

That's Your Costume?

Don't wear the same old thing.  It doesn't matter if you have a dozen shirts and short skirts in your closet that would pass for a naughty school girl, your lover has seen them before.  Seeing the same clothes you have worn before (or even the same costume) during a role play fantasy mentally connects your partner to reality, especially the time and place he saw you wearing the outfit.  This isn't what you want.  Part of the role play is for it to be as far from reality as possible, so get a new costume for each new fantasy, and do as much as you can to your home to change its appearance during the fantasy.  This may not be the cheapest way to play out a fantasy, but it's definitely the most effective.

Choosing the Right Costume

Don't try to find a costume that's too realistic.  The idea is to play out a sex fantasy, so it's more important for the costume to be sexy rather than real.  You want the costumes to suggest the character your playing rather than be overly authentic.  A couple of good examples are a female pirate or a nun.  Real female pirates didn't wear sexy outfits, in fact, there were only a couple of known female pirates, and they were usually mistaken for a man.  A real nun's habit has way too much material and covers far too much sking to be anywhere near sexy.  It doesn't leave little to the imagination... it leaves everything to the imagination.

Along these lines, don't worry too much about authentic details.  It doesn't matter what your female character is, you'll want to wear VERY high heels, silk stockings and VERY erotic underwear.  Why?  Because they're all sexy.  Tennis shoes with ankle socks might be 'cute' with a school girl costume, but 6" stilettos or slightly trashy platform heels are much more effective.  Change the color or your lipstick and makeup, and you can even get a wig to really change your appearance.

Costumes for men aren't as readily available as they are for women, but sexy underwear is.  Nothing will kill the fantasy faster than a guy taking off his clothes to reveal a pair of boring tighty whitey briefs.  Get some sexy boxers, jocks or briefs to wear under your clothes or costume.  Also, if you aren't going to wear a costume, the same thing applies about wearing the same old thing when it comes to your clothes.  Men are notorious about forgetting the past, and you might wear a shirt that reminds her of a time you two were arguing or having problems. Get a new shirt, pants, and shoes.  Choose something different than you normally wear but will still fit your role in the fantasy.

Prepare in advance.

Once you've decided on a fantasy you want to play out and ordered your costume, it's time to make some changes to prepare for your fantasy.  Just like your costume should be something new, you want the environment to be as different as possible. While you're waiting for your costume or costumes to arrive, get some colored light bulbs to change out for your regular ones when you play out your fantasy.  Get some cheap fabrics to cover the walls of the room you're playing out the fantasy to change the appearance.  Use different colored sheets on the bed if you're playing out the fantasy in your bedroom.  Re-arrange the furniture and cover the couch and chairs with some colored sheets. Put a throw rug down to change the visual appearance of the room.  Get rid of the table lamps and bring lamps in from another room. 

Set the Right Atmosphere

Do as much as possible to create a 'new' environment for your fantasy. If your fantasy is something like a gritty Sam Spade detective movie, use a lot of dark gray and brown sheets to cover the walls and colorful furniture. You can even find some cheap lamps, tacky pictures and nic-nacs at a thrift store.  It doesn't matter if things aren't in the best taste or look campy, this can actually add to the illusion of being separated from reality.   For a vampire fantasy you'll want a lot of blacks, reds and silvers.  If you're playing out an Arabian Nights style fantasy, choose some fabric with overly bright, vibrant colors and huge, overstuffed, overly colorful pillows to replace the couch and chairs.  Add incense for both the visual appeal of the smoke twisting and twirling upward, and to add a new, unfamiliar scent.  You can also use scented candles and a new air freshener to help create an unfamiliar smell.

Lights, Camera, Action!

This is a fantasy.  It's a game.  It isn't real.  You are an actor. You are playing a role.  The only difference is there isn't a director to yell 'CUT' if things don't go right.  Try to stay with the part your playing, and the script, to stay in character and keep the fantasy in its proper perspective.  You can say different things than you do in real life, and act in a completely different way than you ever have before.  The same thing applies to your partner.  They are just acting, so don't be shocked or offended by anything they say or do, and if you are, try not to show it.  If things do start to go wrong, improvise and try to get the fantasy back on track.  If that doesn't work, and all else fails, yell 'CUT'.  Take a break and talk with your partner about what's going wrong. Once you've worked things out, take it again from the last scene, or even start over from the top.  This is a last resort, but it's always better than continuing with a fantasy that is taking one or both of you in a direction you're not comfortable with, or not enjoying.
